The website www.webhouse.sk is owned by the company WebHouse s.r.o., Trnava, Slovak Republic.
The website has been created with an emphasis on accessibility of content and functionality. The layout and navigation of the website are designed so that it is accessible also to alternative browsers (text browsers, screen readers, etc.) and to users with special needs.
Accessibility methodology used for the website
The website www.webhouse.sk complies with all major accessibility guidelines according to the following methodologies: WCAG 1.0 (W3C Consortium), Blind Friendly Web (Unified Organization of the Blind and Visually Impaired), or its Slovak version Blind Friendly Web (Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Slovakia), Rules for Creating an Accessible Web (Project pristupnost.nawebu.cz).
Accessibility of the webhouse.sk website
Text size
The text size in both navigation and content is defined using relative units (em) and can be adjusted using standard web browser tools.
Standards
The structure of both layout and content is created according to the HTML5 standard, with visual presentation provided by CSS3 cascading style sheets.
The use of cascading style sheets can be disabled in the browser settings without affecting the accessibility of the website.
Cascading style sheets include versions for different screen resolutions in four variants:
- for large monitors over 1200 px (large desktops)
- for medium monitors from 992 to 1200 px (desktops)
- for small monitors from 768 to 992 px (tablets)
- for extra small monitors up to 768 px (phones)
These specifications allow the website to be viewed without any limitation of functionality on any browser or reading device, including PDAs, mobile phones, alternative browsers, and screen readers for users with disabilities.
Images
All images and photographs that carry informational content are marked using the "alt" and/or "title" attributes. Decorative images are marked with an empty "alt" attribute. The website remains controllable and readable even when image display is disabled.
Colors
All text and background colors are designed to provide sufficient contrast and adequate brightness differences. The text should therefore be easily readable also for users with visual impairments, attention disorders, or other dysfunctions that make perception of textual content more difficult. The website is fully usable even when the "High contrast" working environment is enabled.
Structured content
When browsing the website using barrier-free access (e.g. with cascading style sheets disabled or in a purely text-based browser), it is possible to skip navigation and move directly to the page content. The website follows semantic content structuring using hx tags, which facilitates navigation between thematic sections of the content.
Hyperlinks
Text links (hyperlinks) are clearly distinguished from surrounding text by underlining.
Opening links in a new window
Links do not open in a new window except in cases where the user is informed in advance. Due to the XHTML standard used, JavaScript is applied to open links in a new window. If the user has JavaScript support disabled, the links will remain functional but will open in the same window.
Links to files outside the website
Users are always informed when a link points to a non-web document (e.g. jpg, gif, flash, doc, pdf, etc.), either by information in parentheses following the link or by information in the link description (in the "title" attribute).
Printing web pages
The website includes a CSS style sheet for a print version. All pages can be printed using standard web browser tools (e.g. via the File – Print menu).
Tables
Tables are used exclusively for structuring data and never for layout design. Table data makes sense when read from left to right, and each table includes row or column headers that facilitate understanding of the data structure, even when read using specialized screen readers.
Accessibility exceptions
Visited links are not distinguished from unvisited ones by a change in link color. Some text links are not underlined.
